The person behind the studio

Scott Foster

I create the marketing, and build the tools that power it. A marketing and brand leader of 20+ years, and a one-person studio on the side.

About

Strategy, design, and software. Same hands.

I have spent years at the intersection of strategy, technology, and communication, helping organizations figure out what they actually need to say, build, and measure. Not what is trendy. What works.

By day, I am the Marketing Director at the Davis Education Foundation, a $9M foundation serving 70+ schools and 68,000 students, where I lead all marketing, brand, and technology. Wicko Waypoint is what I do alongside that: a one-person design and build studio, small on purpose, for a short list of people and local businesses I know and work with.

Most marketers hand off the build, and most builders cannot do the brand. I do both, start to finish, at production quality. That is rare, and it is the whole point.

Claim Recovery Portal

After a client lost their home to a fire, I built a tool to rebuild the insurance claim: photograph any item and have AI identify it, estimate its value, and write the title and description, then attach receipts as proof. Hundreds of hours of cataloguing became an airtight, documented inventory.

One More Door

A concept-to-film campaign I created from iconography to creative direction, produced live with a hired director and crew. It ran as a pre-movie theater ad, raised more than $5 million, and won Best of State for Community Communications.

Lunch Angel

A campaign film made end to end on my own: illustration, animation, and voice work across a dozen tools, with an original score I composed. Concept to final cut, one person.

Best of State awards night — honorees gathered on the staircase, statue in hand

Proof

Best of State. Twice.

The night One More Door won Best of State for Community Communications. A campaign I built from concept and iconography through creative direction and a live film shoot — it ran as a pre-movie theater ad and raised more than $5 million.

The Foundation's Teen Resource Center work earned a second statue — storytelling and fundraising that grew three centers into one in every high school in the district, plus the first 16-bed residential Teen Living Center.

Strategy, creative, production, and the technology underneath — same hands, start to finish.
